My excitement keeps building as the days keep ticking away until June 1st. As hard as I feel like I have been working, I don't seem to be getting closer to completing any of the tasks on my to do list of what needs to happen before I leave. I have spent numerous days and nights working hard to get my house to move-in condition, but I still have another full day or so of work to do before it will be ready. My task list at my job just seems to get longer even as I work more hours trying to chip away at it. A few unexpected bills have arrived, throwing off my carefully laid out finances.
However, I am not letting any of this get me down. I am going to keep my eyes on the prize and continue moving forward. June 1st is approaching no matter what I accomplish or don't accomplish. I'm hoping to be where I need to be before I leave, but I am leaving it all in God's hands. Don't get me wrong, I will be funneling my energy into getting my life in the best possible order to be able to walk away from it all for two weeks, but this is one of the things in my life I am trying to give over to Him.
"If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers. He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers." Deuteronomy 7:12-13a

Starting Out On A Journey
One week ago today I found out that I was accepted to be a part of the June 2012 Uganda GO Team through Internation Voice of the Orphan. I have been waiting for over a year for the time I felt that my life was in order and that I would be able to justify the time off of work in order to be able to GO! I am incredibly excited to GO and have noticed a change in my overall outlook as I finally feel like I am doing what I am intended to do.
I have a lot of work to do in the next couple months before we leave, but I am ready to do whatever it takes to get there. I need to finish the work on my new house, move in, fundraise for the trip, gather donations to take with me and get everything at work in order. It is quite a bit to do, but I am up for the challenge!
